Minnesota Twins acquire Kyle Farmer in trade with Cincinnati Reds
After a string of big trades in recent weeks, the Cincinnati Reds kept the momentum going on Saturday when they sent two-time All-Star shortstop Kyle Farmer to the Minnesota Twins for a pair of pitching prospects.

He was an All-Star in 2021 and 2022, and he won a Gold Glove Award at shortstop in 2022.
The Twins are in need of a shortstop after Carlos Correa signed with the New York Mets in free agency.
Steer, 25, is a former first-round pick who has spent the last two seasons in the Twins' minor league system.
He hit .299 with 21 home runs and 76 RBIs in 115 games at Triple-A St. Paul last season.
Encarnacion-Strand, 24, is a right-handed pitcher who has spent the last two seasons in the Twins' minor league system.
He went 10-7 with a 3.79 ERA in 22 starts at Double-A Wichita last season.

They have added several key players this offseason, including Correa, Joey Gallo, and Jameson Taillon.
The trade is a good one for both teams.
