Early Life and Career

Jeroen Van Der Boom Ahoy was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 1961. He began his career as a sailor, working on merchant ships all over the world.

In 1992, Ahoy joined the Royal Netherlands Navy, where he served for 10 years.

After leaving the Navy, Ahoy worked in the private sector, managing a number of successful businesses.

In 2010, Ahoy entered politics, winning a seat in the Dutch Parliament.

He quickly rose through the ranks, and in 2017, he was appointed Minister of Defense.
